Does art retain psychic energy from its creator?

As an artist, a psychic tarot reader, and the owner of an online metaphysical store which focuses on spiritual art, I've often pondered the mystical connection between art, energy, magick, and the human experience.

In this blog post, we’ll delve into the concept of psychic energy in art, exploring whether and how a frequency signature and/or the artist's intention can leave a lasting energetic impression on the artwork itself.

Many spiritual practitioners and energy workers believe art can retain a psychic imprint of the artist’s energy that can remain embedded in the work long after its creation.

During the artistic process, the artist is said to have access to otherwise latent parts of their subconscious minds, whilst being in the frequency of a semi-meditative creative state. Here they can naturally access other “realms” as they manifest their visions and ideas into the physicality. This process sometimes creates a portal from the mysterious unmanifest realm of imagination where pure potential and infinite possibilities reside, to the focused realm of reality. The artist serves as the bridge, ever changed by having been a conduit for this magical process. Many viewers of the arts have reported shifts in their own energy whilst engaging with certain works.

PSYCHOMETRY

Psychometry is an age-old art of picking up and reading information from objects. Psychics have been known to be able to pick up impressions, emotions, locations, and more from items which have helped to solve crimes and resolve legal cases. How much more focused energy would an artist pour into a piece than what a person would leave on a shirt or a shoe?

MORPHIC FIELD

These ideas are also supported by renowned biologist, Rupert Sheldrake, who talks about the morphic field and believes that organisms, including humans, are connected through a collective energetic field. This field can, apparently store and transmit information and influence the behavior and experience of individuals within it.

In the context of art, the morphic field implies that the energetic signature of the artist can be embedded into their work and this field of energy can have an impact on those that come into contact with the work.

This could also be a reason why people give sentimental objects such value.

WAYS WE COULD ENGAGE WITH THE ENERGY OF ART:

  1. Pay attention to how artworks that resonate (or don’t resonate with you ) make you feel and any sensations they may evoke.
  2. If you try to engage with the work from “a space of no mind” and just try to pick up on the energy of the piece you can see if the work will transport you to a place you have never been before which could awaken latent parts of yourself, allowing new ideas to be downloaded into your existence.
  3. Connect with artists where you can try to experience their energy firsthand.
  4. If you make your own art, try to focus on the significance of the creative process rather than being more concerned with the end result.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, EVERYTHING IS ENERGY

Scientists such as Tesla, Einstein, and Wilhelm Reich believed that the universe is composed of energy, frequency, and vibration. They believed that everything in the universe, including matter is fundamentally made up of this energy vibrating at different frequencies and in different patterns.

All of us seem to be artists who mold energy individually and collectively, to create reality with our own unique signatures embedded in our craft.

IN CONCLUSION:

I believe that there is often an esoteric and alchemical process in bringing concepts and visions from the ether into materialised artistic expression which portents to reflect, shift, predict, and bring into being elements of life we would previously not have considered.
